My Bio
I started drawing around the time I was four after a professional artist commented on a picture I drew for him. Most likely he said that out of gratitude but that was all the inspiration I needed at that age.
In third grade, my mom signed me up to take private classes. There I learned how to use different mediums and techniques. When I got into middle school, though, I stopped taking her classes for the first few years for financial reasons. I was about to take a semester and summer class thanks to family and helping around the studio.
While in school, I’ve been taking art as an elective since the sixth grade. I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to but my mom said she didn’t want those private lessons going to waste. Over all, I’m glad I stayed in art though it wasn’t easy. I had to make deals with my mom in order to stay in the class and when I started taking chorus, it was more of a challenge. So far, in order to stay in both classes, I’ve taken three online summer school classes and been keeping up my grades. My mom also believes that art and chorus are my “easy” classes but I’m at a high enough level to know that it certainly Not true.
When I first started drawing, I was obsessed with dogs and it was the only thing I’d draw. I changed to more of fantasizing doing the times when my parents were fighting. In eighth grade I completely lost it; my parents divorced, my dad left, a good friend died, my great grandparents died back to back, had to deal with stressful matters. I sank into an awful depression and stopped drawing. I soon got out of the depression in the middle freshman year from a relationship. I got inspired to draw again but couldn’t find a motive. I found it at the end of sophomore year thanks to my first breakup. I upset at the guy but didn’t want to hurt him so I poured out all of feelings of betrayal and the built up anger of everyone who has ever lied to me onto the paper. I still think It’s one of my best drawings. Since then I’ve been using my sketchbook as an outlet for negative emotions.
